Sick and Tired

I will just leave this open for those of you (me included) that are sick and tired of being treated like fucking children.  Try to get this link out to other sellers (if we can).

From Etsy Terms of Service, "Selling commercial or mass-produced items in Etsy's handmade categories is not permitted." Flagging is akin to Etsy's neighborhood watch. It's your way to alert Etsy of potential problems. Use the "Report this item to Etsy" link on any item listing page. This is a confidential process. The member whose listing is reported will not know who flagged it. Additionally, Etsy's investigation will be handled privately; you will not receive a personal response to your flagging message. Do not flag a single violation multiple times.…" But what if many of us flag the same item one item each? It appears that Etsy does not police. It's up to us to notify them.

Can you add this one to the list. Search any item on Ebay and you will find it sold in bulk numbers. Especially her popular 'antique' camera pendants.

stoneroseshk IS NOT A RESELLER. Please please remove her from the list. She's a supply seller

I agree with Blythe. Care should be taken not to malign genuine vintage or supplies sellers.

I'm not sure because I wasn't the one who posted it, but I think the issue with stoneroseshk is that the tags on most of the beads say 'handmade', not just supplies.

I'm not affilitated with Etsy, other than my own shop, but again, per Etsy Terms of Service: "Mass-produced commercial crafting supplies must not be tagged with "handmade." I think it really really messes/clutters up the search results when someone is looking for, say, a "handmade lampwork bead". And while, indeed, the supply might have been "handmade" without a doubt, it was not made by the seller or the sellers "collective", e.g., "You may not list handmade items that you (or a member of your collective) did not create. This is considered reselling and is not permitted." The same goes for something handmade by the seller: "Listings for handmade items must not be tagged with "commercial." This tag is only for items not made by the seller." Perhaps by reporting this items to Etsy these sellers might get a little poke in the right direction on how to properly tag their items for sale within the Etsy venue.

Well, even if she is mistagging, she's still NOT reselling.

Take her off the list - you may well be wrecking her business.

I am not the owner/originator of this blog, but I have been on a personal rant lately because I buy and sell on Etsy. I have the worst time finding specific supplies I need because of improper tagging, and the worst time selling my own handmade (by me) beads and supplies because of the "resellers" that misrepresent the meaning of Etsy's purpose for selling things "handmade".

And because a non-reseller was inadvertently added to the list of boycott/call-out is probably EXACTLY why Etsy is hesitant to do anything about resellers. I have no issue with stoneroseshk. I looked at her shop and she has very, very pretty supplies. I cannot remove any posts/listings, I'm, again, not affiliated. Mistakes happen and it's better to let a bunch of resellers go on about their business than to "mislabel" one legitimate seller.

I'm with you Rachelle. I too am a lampwork artist. For some reason people seam to think it's ok to add the tag Handmade to lampwork beads even if you did not make them yourself.

According to Etsy rules you can only tag items Handmade if you made them yourself.

Perhaps all bead suppliers should check their listings. I've contacted several that were mistagging and they are aware they are breaking the rules and don't care.

I'm sure that it helps a little bit for legitimate Self Representing Artist lampworkers at least being able to tag with "SRA", once approved for SRA membership. But people who are not "in the know" about SRA are not likely to find it meaningful.

I think there are also those who also don't know how the "tagging" system is supposed to work. They just choose one top-level category and move to the next screen. I don't know if that is helpful for them in an item search or not.
